I Too

May the uninvited

The endless

The perverse

The weird

Be forever welcomed at your table

For i too, fell victim to-

The endless cycle of ignorance

That made the gate keepers of this world call me out of my name

Sale nègre, negro, nigger

These words first exposed me to their cultures

I too, have felt reproached

Uninvited to love

Turned cold from the sight of death

The killings of those who live and look like me

Rebuked by a society that wish to castrate me

For, fear of me bearing fruits would loosen their

grips on me

I too, have fell prey to-

Their perverted world

I am their sidekick, never the hero

I am support, never the leader

I am a thug, never survivor

I am an aggressor, never victim

Perverted into body never a mind

For the idea of me is to serve and follow

I too, wish more for the weird

The abnormal, to one day do for self

Preserve our fate

Black - We never chose

Black- We will stand

Black- We will live

Black- We will rise

I too…I hope
